Virginia residents- there is still time to register to vote!

With a presidential election just around the corner, younger generations have the
opportunity to register to vote so they can be actively invested in the future of the nation. Voting
is a quick and easy way to be politically involved in your community and the country, and
registering to vote is even easier.
Virginia residents age 18 and up still have time to register and be eligible to vote in the
upcoming election. Those who are currently 17 but will be 18 by election day are also eligible to
vote in the upcoming presidential election if they register before the cutoff date.
The cutoff date for Virginians to register online is today, Oct. 15 by 11:59p.m., but
in-person registration is open until Nov. 2. Those requesting absentee ballots should submit this
request as soon as possible so they can receive their ballot by Oct. 25 then return it by Nov. 5.
Some states have already cut off registration for those wishing to vote in the upcoming election,
so take advantage of the extra allowance Virginia gives.
Early voting is already open and can be done by those registered in Radford at the
Radford City Office of Elections. Those registered in a city or county other than Radford can
easily find their early voting location and election day polling location online through the Virginia
Department of Elections, though your election day polling location may not be available until 2-4
weeks before the election.
Radford University is a recognized Voter Friendly Campus and offers students support
and tips on registering to vote for Virginia residents and residents of all other states online at
